An organization that wants to provide identities - i.e operate an Identity Provider (IdP) - within the SWAMID federation must become a member of SWAMID.
Membership Process
- Apply for membership in SWAMID by reviewing the SWAMID Policy and submitting a signed copy of the SWAMID Membership Agreement along with an Identity Management Practice Statement. Before you can be a member of SWAMID you must also conform to one of SWAMID Assurance Profiles.
- When the membership is approved you are free to deploy identity providers in SWAMID. Normally a single identity provider per technology profile is required but there are exceptions to that rule. Contact SWAMID Operations for more information.
Guidance
- Perform an internal "audit" of your identity management based on your Identity Management Practice Statement.
- Select software from the list of recommended software for SWAMID WebSSO.
