Require an Assurance level for signatures

1. Go to edusign.sunet.se and login to the service by clicking on the blue login button.

2. After you have logged in to the service you can upload the documents that you want to sign by clicking on the large rectangle or dragging document onto it. Note that only organisations that have a contract to use the service with Sunet can actually upload documents in the service.

3. When you have uploaded a document you need to "Preview and Approve" the document to ensure that it is the right document you will be signing.
Note that if your document has more than one page you have to go to the last page of the document to be able to approve it.

4. Once the document is approved you can invite others to sign it.

5. In the invitation popup you can choose the minimum level of assurance you want the identities (people) you invite to have when they sign the document.

You can read more about Assurance levels and how they are used in eduSign on the following eduSign wiki page.

6. In the last step you can add the people you want to invite and press the "Invite" button.

For these people to be able to sign the document they will have to use an identity (user account) that has the Assurance level you choose in the invitation or higher.

Final thoughts

If a person does not have the required assurance level on their account they will get the below error message when signing into eduSign.

The assurance level a user account has, can sometimes vary based on the process they used to authenticate when login in to eduSign.

In certain cases the user can raise their assurance level based on an extra secure process to authenticate, if a user gets the below error it can be useful to contact their IT support and see if it is possible to raise their Assurance level.

When inviting people to sign it can be useful to ensure their identity provider (e.g. a university) supports the assurance level you are requesting.

Swamid keeps an updated list of all their members in Sweden including the Assurance level they offer for their users.
